Bonjour a tous,
Students had a busy week end last week. Saturday, we all went to Cannes, the European Hollywood. They seemed to really enjoy it. Students visited the old city of the Cannet from which they had a fantastic view of Cannes and its surroundings. Students had free time in the morning and in the afternoon to go to the beach and shooping. They liked it so much that they asked me if we could go back, so I decided to take them back next Thursday. Saturday night, students had dinner in a restaurant on the beach in Juan les Pins. Students enjoyed it very much since having dinner with your feet in the sand and next to the Mediterrannean sea is not the ugliest place in the world. That was very pleasant.
Sunday, we took a private coach and went to Monaco, Monte-Carlo and the village perché d'Eze. Students visited the Cousteau Museum where they saw incredible fish from the Mediterannean and tropical seas (some of the most fantastic aquariums in the world) They also visited the cathedral where all the princes and their wives get married and burried, including Grace Kelly. They attented the change of the guards at the Palace of Monaco and then, went to eat in a parc with an amazing view on the sea. In the afternoon, the group went to Monte-Carlo with its casinos which they loved very much. They learned about the life of the Monegasques people and an incredible city where the Mercedes is consired "the car of the poor".
Later on, students drove to Eze, a village perché with the most incredible view of the French Riviera. The weather was perfect and I think they took the most amazing pictures of the Cote d'Azur. The evening was spent home after a very long day under the sun.
For Bastille day, July 14th, students got a free morning to sleep in. They needed it after a busy 1st week. In the afternoon, they were free to go to the beach or shopping. At night, we all went to party to celebrate our revolution of 1789. Students went to see a jazz concert in Juan les Pins, and attented the fireworks with were shot from the sea.
Today, we are going for a bike ride around the Cap d'Antibes, one of the most upscale part of the French Riviera and we will finish the afternoon with 2-3 hours of free time at the beach.
Students are having a great time and seem to enjoy themselves. They now know each other pretty well which shoud even increase the fun. Next blog should be Thursday.
